T166                                                                         CAD: Computer Aided Drafting

Explore the exciting world of computer-aided drafting and graphics and animation. This is an introductory course that will expose the student to a variety of computer graphic software currently used in the graphic communication industry today.

    AUTODESK INVENTOR ANIMATIONS

During the year, students will focus on the use of CAD software. Computer-Aided Design continues to be an exciting and fulfilling field for career exploration. CAD is used in many fields to communicate ideas and designs. Students will be introduced to the concepts of three-dimensional design as a basis to graphic communication. Chief Architect, Key Creator and Autodesk's  Inventor and 3D's Max software will be used to explore the fields of engineering and architecture and animation.

The student will have the opportunity to utilize other software connected with the graphic communication industry to design projects, solve problems, and document their ideas. Students will learn how a variety of graphic software can be integrated in order to present an idea or design that impacts his/her audience. Upon completion of this course students will have a background of information and graphic communication skills that he/she will be able to use in other classes, post secondary education, and the world of work.
