It’s already
second semester and no offense, but not much has been done. We need to prioritize what we want to get
done this year and who will do it.
Snowvisions: Snow
Sculpting is rescheduled
- “I am pleased to announce that we have
started to make the snow at
Randhurst Center Shopping Mall. The new dates are: Starting to
sculpt on Wed., February 7th, Must be finished by 10:00 A.M. on February 10th…”
- Who can help with the snow sculpture
contest the first week of February?
07-08
scheduling: Ideas to promote the Arts:
- Volunteers
to visit study halls and promte the arts
- Potty
Talk: once again, great time to promote
Cougar
Warhol: Paint canvas and later find location?
- What
if the administration decides they don’t want to do it? Funds are low so we might want the
administration to first make a decision.
Art
Hall Mural: begin plans, brainstorm
- For
those of you who can’t commute to the Flyer’s stadium, this could be your
way to help promote the arts.
Flyer’s
Stadium: begin!
- Transportation
is self-provided
- Painting
experience preferred, but not required
Voices-Open
Mic Night: See attached sheet for details.
Library
banner: Presidents’ Forum wants clubs to create a banner for the
library.
- Design
must be approved by Presidents’ Forum
- Once
approved, get group together to work on it!
Great American Bagel Paintings: Paintings to replace outdated ones
- Still lives of bagels, coffee cups, etc.
NAHS/Art Dept. Hoodies/T’s
- Production takes about 4-6 weeks. Colors and prices to be decided. Designs need to be turned in ASAP!
- General designs work best
Art Hall Mural:
- Brainstorm ideas, get approved
Fundraisers: With
Open Mic Night drawing closer, extra money would be nice. Here are some ideas:
- Some music for the Beat of your Heart:
during the week of Valentine’s Day, play music during passing
periods-music selected by the students of Conant- we’ll have 40 slots for
songs, first come, first serve.
We’ll charge a dollar or so for each. After each song, a brief shout-out from
whoever dedicated the song, read by an NAHS member. This will help promote
us while we raise money.
- Message Board: Just like above,
this will be done during the week of Valentine’s day. We could line a wall of the cafwith
butcher paper and have students write messages to their friends or boy/girlfriends. We could charge the students or just do
it for fun.
- T’s Hoodies: Good fundraiser, but
most of the money goes into the production and cost of the T’s and
Hoodies.
Scrolling
Message board: Idea by Presidents’ Forum
- Scrolling
message board to be placed in the cafeteria. This would be used by all clubs. Problem: Now that the plan is approved,
we (members of Pres.’ Forum) have to pay for it. It costs around $2,000.
I think we should decide on what we really want to do this
year. I also think it would help us
achieve more this year if the Presidents and Vice President pick one main event
and be in charge of it. Of course
though, all three of us would take charge in Open Mic Night.
For
example, Malinda could be in charge of the Flyers Mural. Jill could be in Charge of the Cougar
Warhol. Andy could be in charge of the
Valentine’s Day Fundraisers. As for the
other members of the society, we could have them divide themselves into
separate teams. Example: we could have
one team handle everything to do with publicity.
