COOPERATIVE DRIVER TESTING PROGRAM

Students who successfully complete an accredited driver education course of classroom and behind-the-wheel programs may not be required to take a duplicate road test at the time they apply for their driver license. Only students who have completed the course with a grade of A or B will be eligible.

BEHIND-THE-WHEEL PHASE - To pass the behind-the-wheel phase, you must complete all simulator and driving lessons. You must also demonstrate adequate driving skills. This evaluation will be made by the Driver Education Instructors.

IN-CAR DRIVING FINAL - Your final driving lesson will be a driving exam which tests driving skills taught in previous lessons. Those who qualify for the Cooperative Testing Program and pass the driving final will be issued a certificate and will not be required to take the State Driving Exam when applying for their driver's license at the Secretary of States office. NOTE: The Secretary of States office will spot check some applicants. Those dates will be available in advance.

CLASSROOM TESTS - A total of 6 classroom unit tests will be given in the classroom phase. Each test is worth 40 points.

CAR TESTS - With each classroom unit test students will also take a written car test. There will be 6 car test, and each will correspond with a recent behind-the-wheel lesson. Each car test will be worth a possible of 10 points.

EXTRA CREDIT PROJECTS - Extra credit projects for each classroom unit are available upon student request prior to the end of that classroom unit. A student may receive up to 10 additional points for their work. Projects will be due on date assigned by instructor.

CLASSROOM FINAL EXAM - The final exam cumulative for the semester and is worth a possible 100 points.

CLASSROOM PHASE - To pass the classroom phase students must adhere to the grading procedures as outlined in the Student Guidebook.

EATING OR DRINKING IS NOT ALLOWED IN THE DRIVER ED CLASSROOM, SIMULATOR ROOM OR CARS.
