OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this course, you should be able to:
- Define traffic regulations, laws, and their
requirements, and recognize the various situations or conditions under which
they apply.
- Develop the judgmental and decisional processes of
driving to determine an appropriate plan of action, including strategies and
tactics required to carry out the plan.
- Describe general performance capabilities of motor
vehicles as well as physical and natural factors that effect vehicle control
systems.
- Describe and design the legal and moral responsibilities
of persons involved in or driving into a traffic accident situation, the
nature and operation of the Safety Responsibility Law, the Financial
Responsibility Law, and adequate insurance coverage.
- Demonstrate a knowledge of the concepts and laws which
enable students to make wise decisions in regard to the use of alcoholic
beverages or other drugs any time they will be using the highway
transportation system as a driver, passenger, or pedestrian.
- Demonstrate a basic knowledge of the operations, skills,
and special laws pertaining to motorcycle usage and the relation of
motorcycles to the highway transportation system.
- Demonstrate the ability to read a highway map and
describe basic car care.
- Demonstrate skill and competency in performing the basic
routine maneuvers of operation of a motor vehicle under actual driving
conditions.
