Drivers Permit Instructions


Conant High School will not be providing the written and visual examinations for the instruction permit. You must take
care of this task yourself prior to the beginning of Driver Education classes.

You can obtain the permit by going to any of the testing facilities listed below. You must have the following with you when you
report to the testing facility:

1. An application form signed by a Conant Driver Education instructor.

2. IN BLACK INK ONLY! A parent signature on your application form.

3. $20.00 for the permit fee (At a later date, when you receive your driver's license, 
no additional fee is assessed by the State).

4. Your original birth certificate with the embossed county seal.
THIS IS MANDATORY.

5. Your school ID and your social security card for identification.

6. After completing Driver Education, you will be required to present your 
social security card before a driver's license may be issued.

7. The Secretary of State offices advise that you plan on arriving at least one hour 
before closing to complete the permit process.

YOU MUST HAVE YOUR PERMIT BY THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS IN ORDER TO BEGIN THE CLASS.

PLEASE NOTE: ANY STUDENT WITH A VALID ILLINOIS DRIVER'S LICENSE DOES NOT QUALIFY IN
THIS PROGRAM.
