The German exchange program at Conant has been in existence for over twenty five years.  We have been in partnership with the Gymnasium am Mühlenweg in Wilhelmshaven, under the leadership of Dr. Hans Zimmermann.  He has been bringing a group of students to stay with American host families for approximately two weeks every fall.  Our reciprocal  program is a two week stay in Wilhelmshaven in June.  Past trips have included day trips to the World's Fair in Hannover, Bremen - the home of the Bremen Town musicians, and a five-day stay in the former West German capital of Bonn and Cologne, home of the famous Gothic cathedral.  In addition, we have visited three of the East Frisian islands at various times, Wangerooge, Langeoog, and Spiekeroog, which are idyllic little islands in the North Sea, reminiscent of some of our tourist towns on the East Coast.
