2.     Show Dates:

You must be able to make all of these shows. If you cannot make even one of these dates, then please reconsider auditioning for this show.

3.    Audition Process:

a.       Turn in the attached audition form completed with all of the pertinent information it requests.

b.      Prepare one scene from the show (found in this packet) that you will read and act for the directors.

c.       You will need to sing one prepared piece from the show, found in the audition packet.

Prepare a song to perform based on the following criteria:

§        If you would like a lead male role, you will need to sing the selection from the song “I’m Free/Heaven Help Me”

§        If you would like a lead female role, you may choose between the two song selections of “Holding Out for a Hero” or “Let’s Hear It for the Boy.”

§        If you would like to be considered for any other role, you will need to sing the selection from the song “Footloose/On Any Sunday”

d.      At Wednesday’s Dance Audition, you will also be asked to learn a 32 measure dance routine, and then be able to perform it well within small groups put together by the directors.

e.       Students being considered for lead parts, may or may not be called back to perform alternative numbers from the show.

4.     Rehearsal and performance policies and procedures:

a.       You will only be allowed three (3) excused absences from rehearsals throughout the course of this show. If you are a lead, you will be expected at all rehearsals. This is a large time commitment. Be prepared for this in advance. Chorus members will rehearse less; however, the rule of three (3) absences applies to everyone in the show.

b.      If you need to miss a rehearsal, you must inform the directors prior to your absence in order for it to be excused—not with standing family emergencies. If you do not tell the directors prior to your absence, it will be considered an unexcused absence and will be dealt with on an individual basis. Any cast members with unexcused absences run the risk of losing their part within the show.

c.       Any students involved in extra curricular activities (i.e.: winter or spring athletics, clubs, community/religious organizations or activities, or any community theater productions) will have the opportunity to audition for the show; however, they will not be eligible for a lead role in the CHS performance of Footloose.

d.      All cast decisions will be made at the sole discretion of the directors.
