All students should have the opportunity to experience Physical Education activities in a safe and non-threatening atmosphere. Students are expected to be courteous, well mannered, dressed properly, and become an active part of the activities offered. |

ZERO POLICY
I. Students will receive a zero that can be made-up for:
A. Inappropriate behavior (profanity, improper hand gestures, put downs, disrespect to others, any staff member
can assign this zero)
B. Home Suspension
C. Failure to dress properly.
D. Non-Participation or unacceptable behavior.
II. Students will receive a zero that cannot be made-up for:
A. School truancy results in a zero, which cannot be made up.
B. A P.E. truancy will be given if you cut class or leave class before the class is dismissed. A P.E. truancy results in a zero
that cannot be made up.
C. Refusal to dress or rent results in a zero, which cannot be made up.
D. A zero will result if a student participates in the wrong activity.
III. Consequences for zeros that cannot be made up or are not made up:
A. 1st Offense -Student receives zero
B. 2nd Offense -Student receives zero and a phone call is placed to the parents.
C. 3rd Offense -Students receiving a zero will meet with administrator and a Saturday school will be assigned. Student
will fail that nine weeks and will be placed on probation.
D. 4th Offense -Meeting with administrator and possible failure for the semester.
IV. If zeros are not made up, the following will result:
A. One Zero -9 week grade dropped 1 letter.
B. Two Zeros -9 week grade dropped 2 letters.
C. Three Zeros -9 week failure
D. Four Zeros -Possibly fail the semester
V. Zeros make-up Policies
A. May be made up from 3:40- 4:10 p.m. on designated Tuesdays and Thursdays. A calendar of designated dates is
posted in the locker room.
B. Late students will not be permitted to make up.
C. You must be dressed in proper P. E. uniform and have a Heart Rate Monitor Strap.
D. Makeup’s must be completed within the unit in which they were given. If the zeros occur on the last days of a unit,
the student receives an incomplete and has week to make them up.
