Going On In Social Studies - SADD announces Pre-Prom Activities The Students Against Destruct Decisions Club (SADD) will be providing four very important programs as part of their annual pre-prom activities, according to History teacher and SADD sponsor Frank Kernats. Monday, May 23 - Jim Gallo Presentation Former Conant student Jim Gallo will speak to Conant students during 5th and 6th hours about the dangers of drinking and driving. Jim is a 1979 graduate of Conant who speaks to 30,000 high school students a year. He is a management consultant specializing in reorganizations and troubled company turnarounds. He also is a shooting guard on the wheelchair team of the NBA Bulls. The team is the #9 team of 140 teams playing in the National wheelchair Basketball Association. Jim and his wife Joelle have two children, Grace and Jack. Jim last spoke to Conant students in 1993.
Tuesday, May 24 - DUI Accident Reenactment The SADD club members will reenact a DUI accident with the help of the Hoffman Estates Police and Fire Departments. This will take place on the football field and will show Junior and senior students the catastrophic effects of drinking and driving.
Friday, May 27 - SADD presents "Death Day" Students from each class periods will be removed from class and return with a sign declaring they died in a DUI crash.

Tuesday, May 31 - Drama Club presents "The Quiet Place" The Conant Drama Club will perform the play, " The Quiet Place" during the 3rd through 6th periods in the auditorium.
