How do I prepare for a meet?
1. First, you will research several of the bills that have been picked for the upcoming meet. You will be given these bills (usually 3) one month before the meet. You will write up a research page on each bill to share with your teammates.

2. Since you have a copy of all the bills that will be debated in the meet, you can begin to brainstorm for intros and positions you might use on those bills.

2. You will practice speechmaking once a week for a half hour with a coach. It is important to understand that we will be teaching the skill of extemporaneous and improvisational speechmaking. This will allow you to speak off a outline, rather than off a prepared speech.

3. Approximately 2-3 days before the meet, you will receive a packet with the research you and your teammates have done. Now you can seriously begin the formulate the positions you will take on each bill.

4. Participate at the meet! There is no replacement for active and consistent participation in sessions.
