What is my time commitment?

There is one meet each month.  (We go to 5-6 of them) Therefore, the following description of your time commitment is on a monthly cycle.

1.  The first week, we meet as a team to divide up the bills for the next meet for research.  This will take about an hour.

2.  You will be required to research the bills you are assigned and prepare a research page on each bill.  This should take about 1-2 hours per bill.  This is done on your time, when you choose.  The number of bills you are assigned depends on the number of students going to the meet.  there are 24 total bills.  Therefore, if 8 students are going, you will be assigned 3 bills. If more students go - well you figure out the math.

3.  Each of the next three weeks, you will meet with a coach for a 1/2 hour coaching session. In that session you will give both a pro and a con speech on one of the bills you have researched.  The coach will critique you on that speech.  This will take place either before school or after school, at a time prearranged by you and the coach.

4.  The meet!  Most meets consist of a Friday night session, a Saturday morning session and a Saturday afternoon session.
