G441/2  Social Science Survey

 

    This is a required class for  all Seniors. The course of study includes  each of the following areas:
   1st Semester
                  Introduction: Logic and Critical Thinking Skills( 8-10 days)
                  Physical and Cultural Anthropology ( 8 weeks)
                   Economics ( 8 weeks)
                    LCAP*
   
2nd Semester
                   Political Science ( 8 weeks)
                   Sociology ( 8 weeks)
                    LCAP*
                             (Unit lengths are approximate)
   
Students are also required to complete the LCAP project. This award-winning program has two components from which students may choose. Each student may choose to volunteer at an community agency which has been pre-approved by the LCAP coordinator and provide a minimum of 20 hours of service *during only one semester of their senior year. Or students may choose to complete a Community Research Paper which includes in-person interviews with community leaders and experts on their pre-approved subjects.
