Background

Northwestern University

I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Northwestern University in 1996 with a degree in Spanish Secondary Education. While attending NU, I fell in love with Chicago and decided to live here after graduation.  Click on the picture to take you to the Northwestern website.

My junior year in college, I studied at the Universidad de Sevilla in Seville, Spain.  I took university classes in Latin American literature, advanced grammar, and Spanish history.  I lived in Seville for the entire year and it was the best educational experience I have ever had.  Click on the picture to take you to the Universidad de Sevilla website.

Roosevelt University - Dedicated to the Enlightenment of the Human Spirit    I received my first master's degree in Teacher Leadership from Roosevelt University at the new Schaumburg campus.  I was in the very first cohort to graduate with this degree in 1998.  A year later, I returned to Roosevelt and received my degree in Administration and Supervision in 2000.  I received my type 75 certification (administrative certificate) from the State of Illinois in 2000 and I became department chair in 2002.     I student taught at Evanston Township High School in Evanston, IL and got my first official teaching job at Conant in 1996.  I have taught Spanish 1, 2, 3, and 4 while at CHS.  I have been the Foreign Language Club advisor, Cultural Awareness Club advisor, Saturday School Detention Monitor, Staff Development Coordinator, Union Representative, and most recently, Junior Class advisor.  This year I am very excited to be the head coach for the Conant Scholastic Bowl team.

Interests

Right now, one of my interests is being the best uncle that I can to my two nieces, Allie and Kaylie. and my new nephew, Tyler.  Unfortunately, they live in Cleveland, Ohio where I grew up so I don't get a chance to see them as much as I would like, but the time that we do spend together is always a lot of fun.  Click on the picture of my nieces to see more pictures.  They are so cute you should check them out.

I also love to play SimCity 4.  I sometimes have marathon sessions where I play for hours and hours.  Although during the school year I don't have enough time to play as much as I would like, but it is always a good break.  I have been a fan of this game since the very first SimCity and have been playing ever since.
