Honor's Chorus Info
What? This is a wonderful opportunity for all District 211 choral students to be a part of the All-District Honors Choir. Approximately 100 students will be selected comprised of the 5 high schools in the district to perform awesome selected choral works under the direction of a professional choral director.
When?
- The actual performance is Saturday, April 2nd
- There will be 2 evening practice rehearsals in April (dates will be made available soon)
- 1 All-day field-trip rehearsal the day before the concert.
- Audition will take place in early February with an exact date TBD.
Who? You can do this. All that is necessary is for the interested students to learn the audition materials.
How? You must prepare music in the audition packet. If selected, you will then have to learn the remaining movements of the work as it will be performed in its entirety in April.
You will need to prepare:
1) The 2 short audition excerpts that will be given to you in Dec./January.
Check the choir website soon for recordings of the audition excerpts.
2) The audition will also consist of a range check and short sight-reading.
