American History G341

American History 341 recognizes the fact that the students in the class need special attention in two areas -basic skill development and academic motivation. While the classroom teacher is responsible for meeting all the class objectives and basic knowledge, they look to supplement in those two areas of need. Skill development in areas such as reading and writing are encouraged through activities and strategies such as joumaling and extra-reading. Since these students are often lacking classroom motivation, special attention is made to make the class applicable to their lives, through the infusion of current events and American culture. More emphasis is placed on hands-on activities such poster development to stimulate other learning styles such as visual learners. Though these areas are part of all three levels of American History , the 341 classrooms will make a bit more of investment in this skill building and supplementation, as compared to the core historical information.
